Do I have to use an outside chairperson to chair a disciplinary hearing?

No, in a small business you can run the hearing yourself, provided you are able to keep an open mind on the issues and understand the legal requirements of a fair hearing. If not, it would be safer to use an expert. Unfair dismissals can be costly!
